Garden Lighting in Fairlight
TN35
Fairlight is the toughest environment we work in. Clifftop gardens take unbroken wind and salt off the Channel, and anything that isn't specified properly will not last a winter.
The design response is fewer, better fittings, mounted low, sealed properly and positioned where they can be serviced without dismantling the garden.
What Fairlight gardens need
Extreme salt and wind
Solid brass and 316 marine-grade stainless only, with marine glands and gel-filled connectors. Nothing painted, nothing anodised.
Low mounting
Tall or slender fittings become sails. Low, heavy, ground-fixed fittings stay put and stay aimed.
Serviceability
Connections go in accessible positions so a future repair is a five-minute job rather than an excavation.
Fairlight questions
- Do you install garden lighting in Fairlight?
- Yes, TN35, covering Fairlight, Fairlight Cove and Pett Level.
- Will garden lights survive on a clifftop?
- With the right specification, yes. Solid brass and 316 marine-grade stainless weather rather than corrode, and we back that with a ten-year corrosion guarantee. Cheaper materials do not survive this exposure.
- Does the wind affect where lights can go?
- It does. We keep fittings low and heavily fixed, and avoid positions where wind-loading would gradually push a fitting off its aim.
