These terms govern your use of this website. The lighting design and installation services promoted here are delivered by a separate business under its own contract with you.

This website is operated by Hastings Garden Lighting Co.. The lighting services are provided by Hastings Garden Lighting Co. under a separate customer contract. Any quote, deposit, warranty, workmanship, timeline, certification or cancellation right relates to that contract with Hastings Garden Lighting Co., not to the Website Operator.

2. No contract formed through this website

Submitting the enquiry form is a request to be contacted, not an offer or a booking. No contract for lighting works is formed by using this website. Any contract for a design visit, quote or installation is entered into directly between you and Hastings Garden Lighting Co. under its own terms, which you'll receive before you accept a quote.

3. Guide prices

Prices shown on this site are indicative guide figures only and are not an offer. The binding figure for any job is the written, itemised quote issued by Hastings Garden Lighting Co. following an on-site design visit. Quotes are typically valid for 30 days from issue; the exact terms are set by the Operating Partner in the quote itself.

4. Service delivery, certification and warranties

All obligations relating to the actual lighting works — including on-site design, installation, timelines, electrical certification for 240V works under BS 7671, product warranties, aftercare, and any statutory consumer rights and cancellation rights (including under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013) — sit with Hastings Garden Lighting Co. under its customer contract with you.

Hastings Garden Lighting Co. does not design, quote for, install or certify any lighting works, does not hold deposits or job payments, and is not a party to that contract.

5. Content and intellectual property

The text, layout, branding and imagery on this site are owned by or licensed to Hastings Garden Lighting Co.. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use. Republication, scraping, or commercial use without written permission is not permitted.

6. Acceptable use

Don't submit false, misleading or third-party personal information through the enquiry form.
Don't attempt to disrupt, scrape, or gain unauthorised access to the site.
Don't use the site for anything unlawful.

7. Third-party links

This site may link to third-party websites (for example, supplier or regulator pages referenced in blog articles). Those sites are outside our control and their inclusion is not an endorsement.

8. Guarantee and call-outs

The guarantee below is given by the installing contractor named on your quote and forms part of that contract. Hastings Garden Lighting Co. passes enquiries to that contractor and is not itself the installer.

Brass, copper and 316 fitting bodies: 10 years against corrosion, manufacturer-backed.
Coated aluminium bodies (inland schemes): 5 years.
Glass lenses: lifetime.
LED modules: 5 years.
Transformers, cable and connections: 2 years.
Workmanship: 2 years. If the install is at fault, the visit and the fix are free.
No deposit until you have approved the lighting plan.

Every manufacturer warranty is registered in your name at commissioning so nothing lapses because a form was not filled in. Manufacturer warranties run to their standard terms, which for coastal fittings include the twice-yearly fresh-water rinse described above. Your copy comes with the certificate on handover.

If a light stops working

Ring first. Most faults are a tripped RCD, a timer setting or a cable cut by a spade, and most of those get sorted over the phone.

If a visit is needed and the fault is workmanship, the visit and the repair are free.

If it is not (accidental damage, rodents, third-party work, or a fitting that has failed under manufacturer warranty), a call-out fee applies. The fee is agreed before anyone sets off, not after. Any parts, labour or materials needed are quoted and charged separately. Where a fitting has failed under warranty, it gets swapped and the claim handled for you.

The website is provided on an "as is" basis. Information published here — including blog articles, guide prices and area notes — is general information about garden lighting in Hastings and is not professional advice for any specific property. Rely only on the written quote and advice issued by Hastings Garden Lighting Co. for your project.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hastings Garden Lighting Co. is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of this website or from any lighting works carried out by Hastings Garden Lighting Co.. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited under English law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer against the Operating Partner under its own contract with you.

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of the page will always reflect the most recent version.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes about this website are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
